Patient Safety Attendant

Your tasks and responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with basic activities of daily living.
• Maintaining a direct line of sight with patient at all times, including while family and visitors are in the room.
• Accompanying patients and ensuring patient safety during transportation, testing, and procedures occurring away from the patient's normal environment.
• Establishing a safe, risk-free patient environment by utilizing knowledge of fall prevention protocols, infection control measures, and self-harm prevention.
• Monitoring patients' physical and emotional condition and reporting any changes in status promptly while remaining direct line of sight with the patient.
• Intervening as needed to prevent patients from harming self or others seeking immediate assistance for escalating incidents.

Qualifications:

• One year experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Current AHA (American Heart Association) BLS (Basic Life Support) required on all clinical nursing units.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
