Nursing Unit Secretary - Operating Room

Schedule:3 twelve-hour shifts per week, consistent schedule, with one weekend rotation every three weekends
Remote:On-site only (no remote flexibility)

Position Summary

Maine Medical Center is seeking aNursing Unit Secretaryto support ourOperating Room (OR)team. In this role, you will perform a variety ofclerical, receptionist, and transporter duties, helping to ensure smooth daily operations in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position plays a vital role in supporting patient care and maintaining efficient communication within the unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary receptionist for the unit, greeting patients, families, and visitors
• Perform clerical and administrative duties to support nursing and clinical staff
• Facilitate communication within the unit and with other departments
• Assist with patient transport as needed
• Maintain organization and workflow in a busy OR setting

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
2. License/Certifications: Current BLS certification preferred or may be required based on location.
3. Experience: One year of hospital or health care setting preferred.
