Job Title: Maintenance Electrician - Controls

Job Description:

Join a well-established manufacturer and supplier of quality custom plastic profile extrusions. With over 70 years of experience, this company serves industries such as transportation, agriculture, energy, refrigeration, retail, commercial, and building. This role is pivotal in maintaining and ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and facilities on the 1st shift.

Responsibilities:

• Perform troubleshooting operations to diagnose and repair facilities, equipment, and machinery.
• Make setups and adjustments on production equipment.
• Conduct equipment repairs on extruders, saws, polars, conveyors, vacuums, loaders, pumps, gearboxes, and more.
• Execute reactive maintenance tasks and a variety of maintenance, testing, inspection, and repair functions.
• Ensure safe repair of equipment and prevent injuries or equipment damage.
• Enter hours daily in a CMMS system and manage inventory for work orders.

Essential Skills:

• Comfortability with troubleshooting VFDs and 480V-Three Phase Motors.
• Proficient in voltage reading.
• Experience operating in a control panel (rewiring, troubleshooting, disconnect, relays, limit switches).
• Retrofitting of PLC's
• Electrical maintenance & diagnostics
• Ability to read ladder logic and use meters.
• Knowledge of the difference between incremental and absolute encoders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and PLC troubleshooting.
• Understanding of AC-DC voltage, voltage, current, and resistance.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints.
• Experience with gearboxes, bearings, seals, mechanical drives, and power transmission.
• Familiarity with water pumps, gear pumps, and heat exchangers operation.
• Ability to glue PVC and sweat copper for pipefitting.

Work Environment:

Work in a moderately clean plastic manufacturing environment with shifts from 6am to 2:30pm on a Mon-Fri schedule. The role involves hands-on tasks requiring problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to electrical maintenance & troubleshooting challenges.

This is a Permanent position based out of Columbus, OH.

The pay range for this position is $70720.00 - $83200.00/yr.
