Maintenance Electrician

$35/hr - $45/hr

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including 480V, 277V, 240V, and 120V circuits.
  • Diagnose and repair motors, motor starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, breakers, and control panels.
  • Perform proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and verify zero-energy states before any work.
  • Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel layouts to support accurate maintenance and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, including input/output (I/O) modules, power supplies, and communication issues.
  • Identify faults in control logic and collaborate with engineering and controls teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Perform PLC maintenance tasks to ensure reliable operation of automated systems.
  • Install and maintain conduit, wiring, and related electrical infrastructure in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Support field service activities as needed, including on-site troubleshooting and repairs within the facility.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
  • Use test equipment such as multimeters, meggers, and clamp meters to diagnose and verify electrical conditions.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), respirators, and decontamination procedures.
  • Document work performed, maintenance activities, and findings to support reliability and continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of industrial electrical experience
  • Strong proficiency working with electrical systems up to 480V, including motors, motor starters, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, breakers, and control panels.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and verify zero-energy states.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, including I/O, power supplies, and communication issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control panel layouts.
  • Proficiency using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, meggers, and clamp meters.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems sufficient to support maintenance activities.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley platforms

Work Environment

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $83200.00/yr.
