The Role The Lead Estimator will prepare accurate and timely construction cost estimates for large‑scale projects with minimal guidance. Estimates will include all aspects of a project that factor into the overall cost. What You'll Do Prepare accurate and timely construction cost estimates with limited information Assist and coach senior estimators, estimators, and associate estimators with estimating best practices and review and sign off on their estimates Build effective relationships with Construction, Operations, Engineering, Resource Planning, and other stakeholders to improve estimate quality Present, explain, and justify project estimates to senior management and relevant stakeholders Work with the Manager to drive continuous improvement and review policies and procedures Assist with analysis of past estimates versus actual spending to drive estimation improvements About You High school diploma or equivalent required 5+ years of experience in construction, engineering, project management, or estimating 3+ years of experience in gas utility construction, maintenance, or engineering Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Power BI required Working knowledge of SAP and IBM Maximo preferred Field experience performing or supervising gas main replacements preferred Knowledge of main and service contracts preferred Valid driver’s license required More Information Salary: $132,000 - $155,000 a year This position offers a career path with advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the role; gaining experience, expertise, and applying technical skills.
