We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Fire Watcher in Kittery, ME to monitor hot work activities and help maintain a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will remain alert, follow safety procedures, and respond quickly to potential fire hazards on-site. 

Responsibilities

• Monitor areas where welding, cutting, grinding, soldering, or other hot work is being performed.
• Watch for sparks, smoke, heat buildup, and other signs of fire hazards.
• Ensure combustible materials are removed or properly protected.
• Keep fire extinguishers and emergency equipment nearby and ready for use.
• Remain in the area during hot work operations and for the required post-work monitoring period.
• Communicate immediately with workers and emergency personnel if unsafe conditions arise.
• Follow OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and site-specific fire prevention procedures.
• Complete fire watch reports, inspections, and related documentation as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Background check is required.
• Previous construction, industrial, or fire watch experience is a plus.
• Ability to stay alert and work in active industrial or construction environments.
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and emergency response practices preferred.
