BJC HealthCare is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Clinical Nurse for a part-time day position within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. Working day shifts in an acute care setting, the Clinical Nurse provides direct, evidence-based nursing care to a diverse patient population. You will perform thorough patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments accurately, monitor patient responses, and collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Using sound clinical judgment, you will prioritize and coordinate care, respond to changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns promptly to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for managing a patient assignment, including completing timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record, participating in admissions, transfers, and discharges, and ensuring continuity of care across the patient’s stay. You will provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions, supporting them in understanding and participating in their care. A strong focus on infection prevention, fall reduction, pain management, skin integrity, and other core quality indicators is essential. You will follow established policies, procedures, and clinical pathways, contribute to an environment of open communication and mutual respect, and support a culture where safety and ethical practice are paramount. You may serve as a resource or preceptor to new team members and students as appropriate to your experience. This part-time day role requires effective time management, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. You will be expected to maintain required licensure and certifications, participate in ongoing professional development, and remain current with best practices in nursing care.
